Veggie Burger Recipe
With Cannellini Beans

Have you ever made a veggie burger recipe or had a falafel? Try this easy vegetarian recipe using cannellini beans for a delicious and meatless meal.

Did you know that the cannellini bean is related to the kidney bean? This bean is also known as the white kidney bean.

This white bean is low in fat, high in protein, fiber and leucine which is an amino acid good for muscle recovery! This makes this bean a great addition to your vegan meals.

This is a nice variation to your burger recipes or for your meatless Mondays! Whether you are a vegetarian or perhaps you simply want to add something new to your diet this is a great recipe for you.

This type of burger can be made using vegetables, vegetable proteins like soy, legumes (beans), nuts, mushrooms, grains /seeds like wheat or flax. Additionally you can use a variation of flavors to keep your taste buds happy.

This meal can be served with a burger bun or with your choice of lettuce, kale, spinach or greens of your choice. Simply top with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

  • 1 Can Cannellini Beans
  • 1 tsp White Vinegar
  • 1/8 tsp Celery Salt
  • 1/8 tsp Ground Ginger
  • ¼ tsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1/8 tsp Rosemary
  • 1/8 tsp Thyme
  • 1 ½ to 2 cups Quinoa Flakes
  • 1 small can diced green chilies
  • ½ cup diced kale

Start by draining and rinsing the beans (place into a strainer and rinse well).

Next place the rinsed beans into a blender along with seasonings (try blending half of a can at a time, unless you have a strong blender or are using a food processor), pulse until smooth and creamy.

Add blended beans into a medium sized mixing bowl along with vinegar, diced green chilies and kale.

Mix well then slowly add in Quinoa flakes, stir until mixture forms into a dough.

Heat a large skillet on medium high heat and lightly coat with olive oil.

Press mixture into medium sized patties and place on skillet. Cook for 5-10 minutes on each side until crispy.

Serve on top of kale with tomatoes and pineapple sauce (blend can of pineapple, one banana, pinch of cayenne pepper) or try one of our sauce recipes or the pineapple sauce on the vegan recipes page.
