Do you love chili recipes but don’t want to wait all day for it to cook? Sometimes it's nice to through chili on the stove and a crockpot and cook all day however maybe you need a quick last minute dinner idea to warm and fill up your family!
This recipe is a quick and easy, and best of all you can cook it in approx. 30 to 40 minutes! Not bad for a warm and satisfying meal.
Chili is one of my favorite dinners or it can also serve as a great party food (served with chips), there are so many ways to make it, so feel free to mix in your favorite ingredient.
Whether you like vegetarian, beef, turkey or chicken there are chili recipes out there for you. It is no wonder that there are so many chili competitions out there. I like this recipe as it doesn’t take all day to make as some recipes require 6 to 8 hours or more and additionally it has a great flavor.
This is a perfect quick recipe for that week night dinner or for a cold chili day.
Start by sauteing the diced onions. Saute onion on medium high heat for 2-3 minutes without oil, then add in 1 tsp olive oil and continue to saute for 3 mins until lightly golden.
Next add in ground turkey meat, mix meat with onion and add all of the seasonings, mix ingredients together breaking apart turkey meat.
Allow the meat to brown for approximately 5 mins on medium high heat, stirring occasionally.
Next add diced carrots, diced cauliflower and chopped kale, stir and allow cooking for 5 min.
Add rinsed and drained Aduki beans, Navy beans and green chilis to meat mixture, stir to combine.
Cover with lid or grease splatter guard (which I used) and allow to cook on medium high heat for 15-20 minutes. Stir occasionally to mix and prevent food from sticking.
Enjoy this turkey recipe served by itself, or for an extra punch of flavor add in a little baked sweet potato or yam.
