pumpkin smoothie recipe

This pumpkin smoothie recipe is like having pumpkin pie in a cup however a lot quicker and healthier! A delicious drink recipe, perfect for fall or anytime of the year!

I love pumpkin season, it's such a fun time to discover wonderful recipes utilizing this orange nutritious winter squash. I absolutely love smoothies and I am always looking for new ways to makes smoothies to keep my taste buds happy. 

You can make this recipe using the flesh of a fresh fall squash or use a can of pure pumpkin. I like to buy plain organic whenever possible so that I can add my own flavors and control more of the ingredients that I'm using. Plus if you buy in a can or carton you can savor this delicious flavor year round, so stock up!!!

I used Arbonne protein powder for this recipe which I love however there are tons of vegan protein powders to choose from or you can also use hemp or rice protein as well. Always make sure to read the ingredients and check with the manufacture to confirm that the protein doesn't contain your food allergen and doesn't run the risk of cross contamination.

Always use caution when using a product, and continue to read labels and company's can change the ingredients and/or manufacturing processes.

pumpkin smoothie recipe ingredients:

  • 1 Ripe Banana
  • 2 to 4 Dates (seeds removed)
  • 3/4 Cup Pure Plain Pumpkin
  • 1/4 Cup Vanilla Protein Powder (I used Arbonne for this recipe, see below notes)
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp Ground Ginger
  • Pinch All Spice
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Cup Dairy Free Vanilla Milk (I used Un-sweetened Vanilla Hemp Milk)

To make this quick and easy recipe simply bring out the blender and combine the following ingredients;

Add banana, dates (remember to remove seeds), water, pumpkin, protein powder, spices and dairy free milk of your choice. 

Next blend until all ingredients are well combined and pour into your favorite cups. This makes one serving however if your feeling generous you can pour into two cups and share with a friend : )
